Oscar is three years old! Yet another indication of how the time has flown since we arrived in Rochester! Now very much aware of presents, parties and treats, Oscar was very excited to find two new toys waiting for him: a Bob the Builder set, including power drill, and a new train to add to his rapidly expanding collection. He is certainly getting slammed with the gender stereotypes early on, but at least we didn't get him a doctor's set ... oh, hang on, we did ... ![]() Oscar "fixes" Adeline's bed Last weekend we made yet another visit to the zoo, milking our annual membership for all that it's worth (and more). This time it was warm enough for us to take a leisurely stroll past the outdoor enclosures. Unfortunately, the tiger exhibit was closed (they have a glass-walled pavilion which is said to provide a fantastic - and probably quite scary - viewing experience), but we got to see the farm animals instead, which Oscar and Adeline both enjoyed. Next week I'll be visiting Chicago for a conference. In May, I'll return to Brisbane to attend the national neurology conference, and I shall deliver 2 oral presentations, one of which has been short-listed for an award. While I don't have high expectations of winning, I am excited about the opportunity to bring my work to the attention of the Australian neurology community. And, naturally, equally excited to catch up with friends I haven't seen for a long time, although I have less than a week, so it will be a full schedule! |
